Company History
It all began in 2000 when Erik Klein started Klein’s Lawn & Landscape, a small lawn maintenance company in Hartville, Ohio. It quickly grew into a full scale landscape construction company after Erik graduated from the University of Akron. Through Erik’s unique designs and tireless networking, Klein’s became well known for their high end landscapes and outdoor living spaces. In 2010 Klein’s purchased G&M Concrete, a decorative concrete finishing company, to enhance its product and service offerings. Skeeter Shield, a mosquito control service, was launched in 2011 and is currently selling dealerships across the country.
By 2012, Klein’s had begun partnering with a leading electrical contractor to perform restoration services to properties disturbed during electrical maintenance and construction. This led to the formation of Klein’s Restoration Services, as it became evident that there was a need for experienced and trustworthy landscape, construction, and excavation contractors in this field. Klein’s Restoration has already become one of the leading restoration companies in the region, serving utility companies in both the electrical and oil & gas industries across eight states. Timber Matting Solutions was added to the family of businesses in 2013. In 2015, EPZ Matting was created after Erik invented the Equal Potential Grounding Mat, an innovative product that enhances the safety of electrical contractors working in the field and which can be installed directly onto timber mats.
In addition, Erik invented and patented the T-CAP, a Traffic Control Assist Product, and started a new business to begin manufacturing and selling the product in 2011. The T-CAP is 100% American made and is manufactured locally in Canton, Ohio. It is currently being sold by some of the leading online and catalog safety retailers in the country.

The introduction of our new EPZ Mats represents an opportunity to engage in markets and regions that to this point we have not ventured.
